PAX Mini 2: small and simple

The Mini 2 heats the oven directly (conduction), which is fast and efficient for small loads. Four presets, no app needed. Give the oven a stir halfway through for even results. It's the one you'll actually carry every day.

PAX Flow: the upgrade

The Flow opens up the air path, so every pull is bigger and easier than older PAX models, and hybrid heating extracts more evenly with less stirring. Fine-tune temperature in the PAX app, and add the water pipe adapter if you want cooler hits at home.

Which should you buy?

Heat settings

The PAX Mini 2 uses four presets, roughly 356, 374, 392 and 419°F (180, 190, 200 and 215°C). Start on the lowest for flavor and step up as the bowl goes on. The Flow adds finer control through the PAX app, which is useful if you like to dial in an exact temperature. More in vaporizer temperatures explained.

How they feel to use

  • Mini 2: quick sessions, a tighter classic PAX draw, very discreet in the hand. Stir the oven halfway through for even results.
  • Flow: bigger, easier pulls thanks to the open air path, smoother vapor from hybrid heating and less stirring. Feels more like a home device that happens to be portable.

Loading tips for both

  1. Grind medium-fine with a good grinder.
  2. Fill the oven to the top and press lightly; packing too tight blocks the air.
  3. Close the magnetic lid and wait for the ready signal before drawing.
  4. Take slow, steady pulls.

Cleaning

Empty and brush the oven after each session. Every week or two, wipe the oven, lid and mouthpiece with isopropyl alcohol on a swab and let it dry fully. Replace screens when the draw gets tight.

Battery and charging

Both charge over USB-C. The Mini 2 is built for short sessions, so expect a handful per charge, fewer on the hottest preset. The Flow has a bigger battery for longer sessions. Higher heat drains either one faster, so starting low saves battery as well as flavor.

What's the same on both

  • Metal bodies that handle daily carry.
  • Magnetic oven lids that are quick to open and clean.
  • Built for dry herb only, not concentrates.
  • The same PAX approach: simple controls first, with deeper settings in the app when you want them.

FAQ

Is the PAX Flow worth twice the price?

If you vape daily and want bigger, smoother draws, most people say yes. For occasional use on the go, the Mini 2 is the better value.

Which PAX is easier to clean?

They're similar; both have simple ovens and lids. The Flow's open air path stays clear a bit more easily.

Can I use the PAX Mini 2 with a water pipe?

The water pipe adapter is made for the Flow.

Which PAX is better for beginners?

The Mini 2. Fewer choices, a lower price and four presets that cover most of what you need.

Is the PAX Flow good for sharing?

Yes. Bigger draws and a larger battery make it the better pick for passing around.

Do PAX Mini 2 and PAX Flow use the same parts?

No. Each takes its own lids and screens, so buy parts made for your model.

Can either vape concentrates?

Both are built for dry herb. For concentrates, look at an e-rig.

How fine should I grind?

Medium-fine. Use a good grinder and don't pack the oven too tight, so air can move through.
