The 1¼ is the compact everyday size: shorter sessions, tighter rolls. The Black takes more rolling skill than the Classic because thinner paper is less forgiving when you're rushing. If you roll well and want the least paper possible in a 1¼ format, this is where you start in the RAW lineup. The Classic 1¼ (also listed) is the better pick for beginners.
